Japan Anonymous pick up litter to protest download laws

JUL 08 - About 80 masked people, calling themselves allies of the global hacker group Anonymous, picked up litter in Tokyo Saturday in a novel protest against Japan's tougher laws against illegal downloads. In light rain, they took part in an "anonymous cleaning service" for one hour in a park and on pavements in the shopping and entertainment hub of Shibuya, a change from the group's trademark website attacks. They were dressed in black and wore masks of Guy Fawkes, the central figure in England's 1605 Gunpowder Plot to blow up parliament, which have become a symbol of protests by the loosely linked alliance around the world. Japan's government could run out of cash by October

TOKYO , JUL 06 - Japan's government could run out of money by the end of October, halting all state spending including salaries, pensions and unemployment benefits, because of a standoff in parliament that has blocked a bill to finance the deficit. The deficit financing bill, which would allow the government to sell bonds needed to fund almost half of the budget, has languished in parliament as the ruling Democratic Party tussles with opposition parties that can use their control of the upper house to reject legislation. "Without this bill, the budget will collapse," Finance Minister Jun Azumi said on Friday, pleading for cooperation from the two largest opposition parties. "It doesn't matter which party is in power. Photo Exhibition on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

On August 5, Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Photo Poster Exhibition jointly organized by Japanese Department of Campus of International Languages, Tribhuvan University and Embassy of Japan, and supported by Japanese Language Teachers’ Association Nepal (JALTAN) was inaugurated at the Embassy Hall. The exhibition will be open to general public from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from August 6 to 11, 2010. The purpose behind the exhibition is to create awareness among Nepalese citizens about the dangers of nuclear weapons and to renew keen desire for global nuclear disarmament and lasting peace in the world. 1st Japanese Language Teachers’ Seminar-2010

The 1st Japanese Language Teachers’ Seminar-2010 of JALTAN-Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Nepal was held at the Embassy of Japan on 23rd February 2010 with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Nepal and in co-ordination with The Japan Foundation, New Delhi.
